That is the phone call I received earlier today. Oh how I wish it was the phone call I was making; but it was still exciting to receive!? My brother David called to let me know he had finally read Dave’s book, The Total Money Makeover, and has been following his plan and is debt free except the house.
My mom is also debt free, including her new house that she paid cash for. She read the book a couple of weeks after the start of my blog, and has assisted in carrying the message to my non-internet family members. My sister has also read the book, but I need an update on where she is in her process.
I know there are a bunch of you out there that are on your way as well. A couple of you even comment, and I know who the rest of you are. Okay, maybe I don’t know exactly who you are, but I know over 1000 different IP addresses that show up every week. Let us all know what you are doing so everyone can be encouraged!
Keep up the good work! You can do it. We have been debt-free for 21 years. We don’t have the fanciest house in Springfield and our car is six years old. We haven’t read Dave’s book…but we know from experience that it’s possible to lead a life free from being ruled by one’s “stuff.”

We’ve been following Dave’s concepts for a while now. We’ve completely cut off the credit card use and paid $5k on a student’s and a non-profit worker’s salaries in just a few months. You’ll get there, just like we will! The effort pays off. Just knowing our debt is going down instead of up leads to a lot of peace of mind.

Just found this blog today, how inspiring!! We’ve been following Dave for 11 months now, and am reliving all the emotions we went through by reading your trials. It’s hard, but will be so worth it. You guys can do it!!

Found your site through TTMM. We got the book as a Xmas present from my folks. We are & have always been pretty good about money but after reading the book, we are going to be BETTER!
We have one debt to pay off yet (van loan). We have the money, but it’s in CD’s. We will have this paid off in about 2 weeks.
After that we are going to go gung ho on our FFEF. The goal is $15k & we have something to sell that would get us there, but until it sells, we are going to start saving. We are hoping we have that in 3 months (tax refund will be a big start to it).
Anyhow, just found your blog & have started reading from the beginning & so I have to get back to reading but thought I would leave a quick comment here.
