I know I haven’t written a book review in several months, so for those of you who think I may not be reading while I am here, that is not the case. Amy just sent me Lone Survivor for my birthday, and I have read the first chapter. It looks like it is going to be really good; however I wish he would leave the politics out and just tell the story; maybe he will later on. I am going to be out on mission for the next couple of days, so I may have it knocked out this week.
I have also recently read The Millionaire Next Door. This was a very good read although I have been listening to Dave so long I already knew just about everything in the book. Still worth the time.
Guerrilla Marketing for the New Millenium was a quick and good book; however, I would recommend the original. This book was an example of an author and publisher throwing together a quick overview of an original work in an attempt to sell to loyal customers. It worked as I bought the book, but you shouldn’t. You should buy Guerrilla Marketing if you are in business or ever plan to be, but skip this overview.
The Entrepreneurial Myth is a must read for anyone who wants to open a business. I read this before opening The Lazy Susan and read it again in recent months and think I did a decent job of avoiding the trap. Too bad I didn’t quite understand that debt thing back then
It seems like I have read a couple other books since I have been here; I just can’t recall them right now.
I will be gone here for a couple of days, but will return soon with more photos of yet another paradise from Afghanistan. I know you can hardly hold back your excitement and desire to come visit ![]()

It’s true. I’d LOVE to come visit.

This has nothing to do with your reading but I thought you might be interested in this new Monopoly game. Now instead of play money you can use your credit card to purchase your properties.
See the game here.

Hmm… actually it’s a debit card.

I guess you are right but the point remains the same. It is more of the same attitude that if you do not have the cash in hand just swipe your card. I like using cash better.

Loved the E-Myth. It’s a really good read and recommended for anyone going into business.
I wish I had read it BEFORE!
Now I’m trying again, it’s been dusted off and put to very good use.

Funny Joel, I’m also reading “The Millionaire Next Door” right now. I picked it up at the used book store a few weeks ago when I went looking for “Total Money Makeover” (which they didn’t have so I had to buy direct from DR. I’m about 1/3 of the way through with it. Very interesting research results. I remember hearing about this book a long time ago and finally picked it up.
Best wishes my friend… keep your head down. We want you to come back in one piece (and alive).
