It is now 2008 over here in Afghanistan; I brought in the new year watching Air Force and Cal playing in the Armed Forces Bowl while I responded to emails and prepared January’s budget. Sorry I haven’t written much lately, but now that I got all the mail delivered I have changed my focus to re-deployment issues and that is very time consuming. I look forward to leaving Afghanistan and at long last I can say leaving this month.

…and a chapter pends to close in your life. Take a good look around you before you leave and etch the smells, moods, images into into your memory.
And then go home to your family, and continue forward creating your legacy for the Maxwell family. Your wife and children simply could not have found a better man and leader to follow through in life.
